[First Look] DJI Mavic Pro and Osmo Mobile.

DJI has launched their latest drone, the Mavic Pro today in Malaysia. This drone has an impressive spec despite being very small and light weight. Probably this is where the saying ‘don’t judge someone by their looks’ blends well into this scenario because most drones  with a high quality camera and 4K recording capability in the market today are quite big and heavy to carry around. Even assembling and dismantling these drones is not a straight forward thing to do. Thanks to DJI, the Mavic Pro has broken these traditional beliefs that people always had about a good quality drone.

Now, let’s take a look at some key features of the Mavic Pro.

Mavic Pro Key Features ::
  • Almost the size of a 500 ml water bottle when folded.
  • OcuSync transmission system which offers up to 7 KM of transmission range.
  • Speed – up to 64 KMH.
  • Continuous flying for up to 27 minutes.
  • Obstacle Avoidance, a feature which helps the drone to avoid collision while flying.
  • 12 Megapixel camera with 3-axis optical stabilization to capture perfect still photos.
  • Perfectly stable and non-shaky 4K video recording at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 96 fps.
  • Allows video streaming (1080p / 720p).
  • Use gestures to take selfies.
  • Tripod Mode – takes stable and clear photos.
  • Use smartphone to control Mavic Pro via Wi-Fi.

Actually there are even more features that we would like to list down but as the current list is already getting quite lengthy, it is better for us to stop here. If you would like to know more about the device, please refer to DJI’s website.

Along with the Mavic Pro, DJI has also introduced another product of theirs, the Osmo Mobile. Actually this product was already in Malaysia since 2 months ago. It looks like a selfie stick (which you can’t expand) and it is a must have thing if you record a lot of videos using your mobile device. Basically it stabilizes your video recordings and we were amazed with how well it performed. Seriously, you can record videos like a professional if you have the Osmo Mobile (as well as a good quality camera phone). If you are a vlogger, you should consider the Osmo Mobile.

If you need to know more about the Osmo Mobile, please check it out at DJI’s website. The price of this product is RM 1376.94 including GST.
