Classic console games from 70s and 80s is now available online, thanks to Internet Archive.

Internet Archive has now included some classic video games from 1970s and 1980s era into their collection. With this, you can actually play those games via your web browser for absolutely free. I tried some of the games and oh boy, none of these games I’ve actually played when I was a kid. In fact, I’ve never even heard of the game consoles mentioned in Internet Archive.

Are you familiar with Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Atari 7800 ProSystem, Magnavox Odyssey or Astrocade? Haha, no I totally have no clue about them. Probably because I was a 90s kid and during my time, Micro Genius console was the popular one. After that new game consoles from Nintendo came in and by that time, I was no longer playing video games but computer games.

I still miss video games and I wish that I can play again some of the old school games which I played during my time such as Double Dragon, Ninja Turtles Adventures, Felix The Cat, Spartan, Super Mario Bros, Contra, Street Fighter, Alladin and so on. Recently when I went to Mydin Wholesale Emporium, I saw them selling the video game that I used to play (but it was not under Micro Genius). Unfortunately the build quality was quite poor and the game cassette has very limited number of games. These games were so boring and they were repeating (because on the cassette, it was stated that there are one million games inside). I tried looking for the game cassettes from the internet but couldn’t find any of my favourite games except Mario.

Oh….hey, finally I found few games in Internet Archive that I used to play those days. Mario Bros, Galaga (I played Galaxian more than Galaga), Pac-Man and Donkey Kong are some of the games that I’ve played. Have you played them too?
