Samsung Malaysia will start selling their 2nd version of Tab 7 and Tab 10.1 in Malaysia this month. Called as Galaxy Tab 2, the 7″ is priced at RM1299 and Tab 10.1 is RM200 higher, which is at RM1499.
The 7″ version Tab 2 is a decent upgrade compared to P1000 where you can enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 1Ghz Dual-core processor and also doubled up RAM (1GB). However for the 10.1″ version, we don’t see a major upgrade. The Tab 2 is running on TI OMAP 4430 (previous version was on Nvidia Tegra 2 T20) and preloaded with Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Till date the previous version of Tab 10.1 don’t have any indication of upgrade from Honeycomb to ICS but it is possible.
We also realised that the front camera of Tab 2 10.1″ is only 0.3 Megapixel. The previous version had 2 Megapixel camera.
As for the Tab 2 7″, although it is a good upgrade from P1000, we wonder how many of you will go for this instead of the Tab 7+ (P6200) which has a slightly better specification.
